Chess in School Supported by European Parliament

The European Parliament adopted the Written Declaration of “Chess in School” in 2012. The EP’s declaration has an aim to bring attention to chess as a teaching tool to schools as it directly contributes to academic performance. Playing chess makes children smarter and helps them become more critical thinkers, better problem solvers and more independent decision makers. They achieve all this, while enjoying themselves.
